Energy Burners - The Best Toys for Active Boys
Trampoline - Our indoor trampoline is a life saver! My boys love to jump on it and it's a great
way for them to burn off some energy when we can't go outside. It's also safer than the large backyard
trampolines.
Pogo Stick - What's not to love about a pogo stick? My oldest son got a pogo stick when he turned
six and it took him a month or two to master it but it has been one of his favorite outdoor toys ever
since. For younger kids, the
Fisher-Price Grow-to-Pro Pogo is a great option.
Wild Planet Hyper Dash - Great game to get kids moving! Spread out the five colored and numbered plastic
disks. Pick one of the four game modes and see how fast you can tag the disks it tells you too.
The different modes make it perfect for multiple ages. The simplier modes give you colors or numbers to
tag. More difficult game modes give you an addition or subtraction problem to solve before you can tag a
disk. My kids love playing this both indoors and out.
Ball Pit - A ball pit is another great way for boys to burn off some energy. There are lots of
ball pits to choose from. Some twist and fold up like the Playhut one shown here and others are
inflatable. One thing to note, most ball pits don't come with enough balls to fill it so you will need
to purchase a page of ball pit balls.
Hooper Ball - Hooper balls are lots of fun and another great way to burn energy indoors or out. My
boys like to hop and down our hallway on their hooper ball. Hooper balls come in a variety of sizes so
make sure to choose one that is appropriate for your child's age and size! You can also find hooper
balls that have favorite characters on them such Thomas, Disney characters, Spongebob, and Curious George.
Plasma Car - This is a fun ride on toy because it takes a lot of kid power to make it go! Kids
have to twist the steering wheel back and forth to make it go. This is probably better with older kids,
maybe 5 or 6 and up. My older son loves his Plasma Car but my 3 year old hasn't been able to master it
yet although he loves to sit on it and scoot around.
Balance Board - A balance board is a fun way for kids to practice their balancing skills and become more
coordinated.
